Pickled Onions

Published on: 08/15/2022

The perfect addition to burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches or cheeze boards. There is nothing a pickled onion can’t do.

This recipe is so easy, you’ll want to make pickled onions for every occasion!

INGREDIENTS

1 red onion

1 cup white vinegar

3 Tbsp sugar

1 tsp salt

2-3 bay leaves

DIRECTIONS

  1. Cut your red onion. I like to cut in half, and then cut into thin slices. You can slice the whole thing into slices if you want. I’ll leave that up to you.

  2. Add vinegar, sugar, salt and bay leaves to a small pot. Bring to a boil.

  3. Once boiling, add your onions. Stir to try to get the liquid touching as many onions as possible. Let boil for about a minute, then turn off the heat, cover your pot and let cool.

  4. Add liquid and onions to a container with a lid, and put in the fridge.

  5. They will be ok in your fridge for about 2-3 weeks (if they don’t get used up before then).

If you make these onions, be sure to take a picture and share it on your social media and tag me! I’d love to see your creations.
