The perfect addition to burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches or cheeze boards. There is nothing a pickled onion can’t do.
This recipe is so easy, you’ll want to make pickled onions for every occasion!

INGREDIENTS
1 red onion
1 cup white vinegar
3 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
2-3 bay leaves
DIRECTIONS
-
Cut your red onion. I like to cut in half, and then cut into thin slices. You can slice the whole thing into slices if you want. I’ll leave that up to you.
-
Add vinegar, sugar, salt and bay leaves to a small pot. Bring to a boil.
-
Once boiling, add your onions. Stir to try to get the liquid touching as many onions as possible. Let boil for about a minute, then turn off the heat, cover your pot and let cool.
-
Add liquid and onions to a container with a lid, and put in the fridge.
-
They will be ok in your fridge for about 2-3 weeks (if they don’t get used up before then).
